Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings, and protecting victims

A directive on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting victims. The amendments define the offence by action, means and purpose, address poverty as a driver, exploitation including sexual exploitation, organ removal, slavery-like practices and child begging, reference Council Directive 2004/81/EC on residence permits, penalties, prosecution without victim reporting, police and judicial cooperation through Europol, the European Protection Order, and protection for child and vulnerable victims.
