OTC derivatives, central counterparties and trade repositories (EMIR, European Market Infrastructure Regulation)

This regulation (EMIR) governs OTC derivatives, central counterparties (CCPs) and trade repositories. Amendments would require authorised CCPs to clear eligible contracts on a non-discriminatory and transparent basis regardless of venue of execution, set record-keeping obligations and access procedures for trading venues, task ESMA with regulatory and implementing technical standards, and, in some versions, prohibit certain food- or feed-related derivative contracts.
