Summary
Resolution accompanying the consent procedure on the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the EU and Iraq. Amendments recall Iraq's history under Saddam Hussein, wars and the 2003 US-led invasion, the EU's commitment to a partnership supporting reconstruction and democratic transition, the parliamentary elections scheduled for 12 May 2018, the role of Iran and Tehran-backed militias, the need to improve security and rule of law, and the responsibility of EU Member States involved in the 2003 war.
