Summary
Legislative dossier establishing an evaluation mechanism to verify application of the Schengen acquis. The amendments address a uniform evaluation mechanism for Member States and candidate countries covering the areas of the Schengen acquis, including external borders, visa policy and the Schengen Information System, the abolition of internal border controls, on-site visits, the situation regarding corruption and organised crime, and respect for fundamental rights and data protection.
