Summary
Own-initiative report on developing the job potential of a new sustainable economy. Amendments link the transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient economy under the Europe 2020 strategy to green jobs, shifting taxation from labour towards resource and energy use, a possible carbon tax, training and skills, SMEs and eco-innovation, while raising concerns over labour mobility, job insecurity, social dialogue and gender equality.
