Summary
The dossier concerns journalism and new media in creating a public sphere in Europe. The amendments revise recitals on citizens' access to information, the role of national, public and private broadcasters in informing about EU affairs, the development of a European public sphere and transnational media, the European citizens' initiative, the impact of new media and social networks on journalism, media pluralism, and incorporating EU studies into school curricula.
