Summary
An own-initiative report on an EU policy framework to assist developing countries in addressing food security challenges. The amendments revise recitals citing FAO figures on hunger and undernutrition, food-price volatility and commodity speculation, rising demand for agricultural products by 2050, land degradation, water scarcity and climate change, smallholder and women farmers, fisheries, and a human-rights-based approach to food, with references to the MDGs and the Food Facility.
