Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): RAPTI Sylvana (S&D)
Summary
This own-initiative dossier concerns universal service and the '112' emergency number. The amendments call on Member States and the Commission to promote 112 as the EU-wide emergency number through information campaigns and events on 11 February, improve caller location, response times and access via SMS and text for vulnerable people, establish quality performance indicators, and support a pan-European 'reverse 112' early-warning system.
