Summary
This dossier sets minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime. The amendments require Member States to give victims information from first contact, access to case files, free interpretation, victim support services, the right to take part in proceedings and to compensation, and training for police, prosecutors and court staff; several extend protection to vulnerable categories and address environmental harm and mass victimisation.
