A recast directive on making measuring instruments available on the market, part of the 'Goods package'. The amendments define terms such as sub-assembly and putting into use, set obligations on manufacturers and importers for identification, marking, the EU declaration of conformity and instructions, address conformity assessment bodies, their notification, independence and accreditation, supplementary metrology marking, market surveillance, delegated acts and transposition by Member States.
