Summary
This dossier ('Two-pack') concerns common provisions for monitoring and assessing draft budgetary plans and ensuring the correction of excessive deficit in the euro area. The amendments revise recitals on the Stability and Growth Pact, the European Semester, rules-based national fiscal frameworks, a common budgetary timeline and publication of draft budgetary plans, independent macroeconomic forecasts, sovereign debt and a possible European debt authority; some reject the Commission proposal.
