Summary
This own-initiative report is the twenty-seventh annual report on monitoring the application of EU law for 2009. The amendments stress timely transposition of directives, the high number of infringement cases and lengthy proceedings, and the Commission's role as guardian of the Treaties. They address the EU Pilot project, alternative dispute resolution, SOLVIT, collective redress, transparency of infringement files, the petition mechanism and the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
