Summary
This own-initiative report addresses industrial, energy and other aspects of shale gas and oil. The amendments note Member States' right to determine their energy mix, registration of hydraulic fracturing chemicals with the European Chemicals Agency, the impact on natural gas markets and power generation, and call for diversifying energy sources, better scientific data, and priority for conventional sources.
