Summary

This dossier concerns personal data protection for processing by competent authorities for the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offences or execution of criminal penalties, and free movement of such data. The amendments define data subjects, profiling and personal data breaches, set principles of lawful, fair and minimal processing, distinguish categories of data subjects, prohibit discriminatory profiling, and regulate further processing and information given to the data subject.
