Summary
Legislative proposal on the freezing and confiscation of instrumentalities and proceeds of crime in the EU. The amendments revise recitals on financial gain as a motive for cross-border organised crime, tracing, freezing and confiscating proceeds, extended and non-conviction-based confiscation, the ne bis in idem principle, the distinction from civil-law measures, and the possibility of dispensing with disproportionate confiscation orders.
