Summary
An own-initiative report on an agenda for adequate, safe and sustainable pensions. Amendments stress that first-pillar public pensions should be poverty-proof and that adequate retirement income is largely a Member State responsibility, debate linking retirement age to life expectancy and the principle of subsidiarity, address second and third pillars, occupational pension funds as long-term investors, the IORP directive and Solvency II-type requirements, and the financial transactions tax.
