Prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing

This dossier concerns prevention of the use of the financial system for money laundering or terrorist financing. Amendments target beneficial-ownership transparency through public registries for companies, trusts, foundations and similar arrangements, address tax havens, secrecy jurisdictions and politically exposed persons, and would prohibit cash transfers above a stated threshold. They also strengthen protection of whistleblowers and obliged entities' scrutiny of unusual transactions and tax crimes.
