Summary
This dossier sets Parliament's mandate for trilogue on the 2014 budget. The amendments emphasise the EU's role in the multilateral trade system, resources for negotiating and monitoring trade agreements, Parliament and civil society scrutiny, collection of VAT and customs duties, Court of Auditors findings on customs supervision and spending errors in structural funds, and recovery of unlawfully spent Union funds.
