Summary
This own-initiative report concerns regional branding and best practice in rural economies. The amendments address regional quality branding to support rural economies and sustainable tourism, cooperation and partnerships among local actors, criteria and frameworks for awarding such brands, a possible European tourism quality certificate or label, and distinguishing regional brands from protected geographical indications and designations of origin, with support from European Structural and Investment Funds.
