An own-initiative dossier with a recommendation to the Council on the humanitarian engagement of armed non-state actors in child protection. The amendments address compliance with international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, action plans with the UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, demobilisation, rehabilitation and reintegration of child soldiers, engagement through NGOs and humanitarian organisations, and protecting schools from military use.
