Recommendations to the Council on the negotiations of the EU-Japan Strategic Partnership Agreement

Own-initiative recommendation to the Council on negotiating the EU-Japan Strategic Partnership Agreement. Amendments recall a resolution on the 'comfort women', the March 2011 earthquake, tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster, note shared EU-Japan responsibility for peace and shared values of democracy, rule of law and human rights, existing cooperation in fields such as energy, nuclear safety, climate change and fisheries, and tensions with neighbours over disputed islands.
