Summary
This dossier concerns developing a sustainable European industry of base metals. The amendments define base metals such as steel, aluminium and copper, and address steel and aluminium electrolysis plant closures and job losses, deindustrialisation, high energy prices and carbon costs, the emission allowance trading scheme and carbon leakage, global competition from third countries, dependency on imports, and involving workers in innovation and restructuring.
