European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI)

The European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) is a file handled under the ordinary legislative procedure, where Parliament and the Council of the EU decide together to make binding EU law. It was examined by many committees including Budgets, Economic and Monetary Affairs and Industry, Research and Energy, under subjects covering investments, SMEs, structural funds and the European Investment Bank. The amendments set definitions and eligibility criteria for EFSI-related guarantees, specify the EFSI Agreement between the Commission and the EIB, address the EU guarantee amount and its portfolio cap, create a European Investment Advisory Hub within the EIB, establish an investment project pipeline and directory, and open participation to third parties. It shares subjects such as the European Investment Bank with related files including the Solvency Support Instrument.
