Summary
Legislative proposal to amend the Schengen Borders Code reinforcing checks against relevant databases at external borders. Amendments address control at external borders and internal security, the phenomenon of foreign terrorist fighters who are Union citizens, systematic checks of persons enjoying free movement against databases, the principles of subsidiarity, proportionality, necessity and respect for fundamental rights and personal data, alongside citations of international human rights instruments.
