Procedure
Unfair trading practices in the food supply chain
Subjects: Trade restrictions, concerted practices, dominant positions · Marketing and trade of agricultural products and livestock · Consumers' economic and legal interests
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): CZESAK Edward (ECR)
Summary
This own-initiative report addresses unfair trading practices in the food supply chain. Amendments add references to the Commission's report on unfair business-to-business practices and the Supply Chain Initiative, debating whether voluntary good-practice principles suffice or a binding, harmonised framework is needed, and highlight the weak position of farmers and SMEs and the 'fear factor' deterring complaints.
