Summary
A legislative-initiative report calling for an EU mechanism on democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights. Most amendments add or alter citations referencing the Treaties (notably Articles 2, 3, 6, 7 and 11 TEU), the European Social Charter, Council of Europe instruments, the Copenhagen criteria and the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights; several are marked deleted and the LIBE committee rejects the draft report.
