Summary

This dossier concerns the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention). The amendments address EU accession to and conclusion of the Convention, gender equality and non-discrimination, sexual and reproductive health and rights, the legal basis under the Treaties and the passerelle clause, national ratification and action plans, collection of statistical data, and Parliament's involvement in the Convention's monitoring.
