Summary
This recast sets the criteria and mechanisms for determining the Member State responsible for examining an application for international protection lodged by a third-country national or stateless person. Amendments revise the Dublin system's principles, the definition of family member (including siblings) and the corrective allocation mechanism keyed to population and economy, while adding safeguards on family unity, the best interests of the child and the right to an effective remedy.
