Promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. Recast

This dossier is a recast directive on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. The amendments set a Union binding renewable target with national targets, regulate conventional, advanced and forest-based biofuels, bioliquids and biomass fuels through sustainability, greenhouse-gas-saving, land-use, food-security and human-rights safeguards, address energy cooperatives and access to electricity in developing countries, and adjust how transport, aviation and maritime fuels and renewable electricity count toward targets.
