Summary
The dossier covers the definition, presentation and labelling of spirit drinks and the protection of geographical indications. Amendments revise rules on adding new categories, indicating country of origin or place of provenance, protecting geographical indications under the TRIPS and GATT Agreements, preventing misuse, imitation or evocation and false provenance, extending protection to goods from third countries, and restricting use of geographical indications on flavourings, alongside delegated-act powers.
