Summary

The dossier addresses a new trade framework between the EU and Turkey and the modernisation of the customs union. Amendments debate broadening it to sectors such as services and agriculture, conditioning modernisation on the rule of law and human rights, the freeze of accession talks, Turkey's non-implementation of the Additional Protocol towards Cyprus, its rapprochement with Russia and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and the July 2016 coup attempt.
