Summary
This own-initiative report concerns the Green Paper on retail financial services. The amendments debate the development of the retail financial services market, cross-border activity, competition, concentration and consumer choice and protection; barriers such as language, distance selling and lack of trust; the impact of digitisation and fintech innovation on security, data protection, taxation and financial inclusion; and the position of SMEs, new entrants and the distinction between consumers and investors.
