Palm oil and deforestation of rainforests

An own-initiative report on palm oil and the deforestation of rainforests. The amendments treat palm oil and agriculture as drivers of deforestation, name Malaysia and Indonesia as main producers, reference the SDGs, biofuels from food crops, indigenous land tenure and rural women, certification schemes such as the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), and call for a binding regulatory framework making importers' supply chains traceable.
