Prospects and challenges for the EU apiculture sector

An own-initiative report on prospects and challenges for the EU apiculture sector. The amendments address honeybees and other pollinators as part of biodiversity and their role in pollination and food security, preserving the genetic heritage and diversity of bees, cooperation between farming and beekeeping, and the threat to bee survival from the widespread use of chemical pesticides, including neonicotinoids, with calls for the precautionary principle.
