Protection of the Union's budget in case of generalised deficiencies as regards the rule of law in the Member States

A regulation on protecting the Union's budget against generalised deficiencies as regards the rule of law in the Member States. Some amendments reject the Commission proposal or reframe it around 'Union values'; others develop the rule of law through separation of powers, legality, legal certainty, independence and impartiality of courts and prosecution, judicial protection, and link sound financial management to these principles, with references to tax evasion and avoidance.
