EC/Morocco Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement: amending Protocols 1 and 4
Subjects: Bilateral economic and trade agreements and relations · Relations with the countries of the Great Maghreb and Maghreb
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): SCHAAKE Marietje (ALDE)
Summary
This dossier concerns the EC/Morocco Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement amending Protocols 1 and 4. Amendments stress that the EU does not recognise Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, that the Court of Justice treats it as a separate and distinct territory and that it remains a UN non-self-governing territory, insist on respect for international law and human rights and the right to self-determination of the Sahrawi people, and reference UN-led negotiations.
