Implementation of the Directive 2011/7/EU on combating late payment in commercial transactions

This dossier reviews implementation of the Directive on combating late payment in commercial transactions. The amendments revise recitals on prompt payment as the bloodstream of businesses, the vulnerability of SMEs, public authorities' special responsibility, payment periods for business-to-business and public-authority-to-business transactions, interest for late payment, the role of late payment in bankruptcies, and stricter payment terms by Member States.
