Summary

A budgetary dossier on mobilising the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for redundancies in the textiles sector in Portugal. The amendments note the high unemployment in the wearing-apparel sector and low redeployment prospects for low-skilled workers in the Norte, Centro and Lisboa regions, call for (re-)training creating real alternatives, note financial allowances do not exceed the 35% maximum in the EGF Regulation, and seek to prevent double financing.
