Summary
This own-initiative report makes recommendations on the new comprehensive agreement between the EU and Uzbekistan. The amendments concern negotiations on an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, welcoming reforms to the business climate, judicial system and security services under Uzbekistan's Development Strategy for 2017-2021, and press for judicial independence, human rights, civil society and media freedoms, an end to surveillance, independent prison monitoring and the release of political prisoners.
