Procedure
A monitoring framework for the circular economy
2018/2759(RSP)·8th term·ENVI·RSP
Summary
This resolution concerns a monitoring framework for the circular economy. The amendments define the circular economy as maintaining the value of products, materials and resources while minimising waste, criticise indicators focused mainly on waste generation and recycling rather than prevention, call for measuring decoupling of growth from resource use, resource productivity, carbon emissions, life-cycle analysis and the Eco-Design Directive, raise concerns about major trade deals, and stress flexible, harmonised indicators.
