Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): POLČÁK Stanislav (EPP)
Summary

This own-initiative report concerns the EU's role in protecting and restoring the world's forests. Amendments welcome the FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreements and the EU Timber Regulation, urge a due diligence obligation on operators placing forest-risk commodities such as soy, palm oil, beef and cocoa on the market to prevent deforestation, link deforestation to zoonotic diseases, and call for stronger customs checks and cooperation against illegal logging.

17 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
