Summary

A legislative-initiative report on protecting workers from asbestos. The amendments recall that asbestos is a recognised carcinogen causing lung cancer, mesothelioma and other diseases, address occupational and environmental exposure, building renovation and removal, recognition of asbestos-related diseases and compensation, occupational exposure limit values, and the role of trade unions and victims' groups, citing TFEU Article 168 and the EU Beating Cancer Plan.
