European Climate Law

2020/0036(COD)·9th term·AGRI / ENVI / ITRE / REGI / TRAN·COD - Ordinary legislative procedure (ex-codecision procedure)·Completed
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): GUTELAND Jytte (S&D)
Summary

The dossier is the European Climate Law. Amendments rewrite recitals on the European Green Deal, the IPCC special report on global warming of 1.5 C and the Paris Agreement, debate climate neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and weigh the COVID-19 / Corona crisis on Member States; several reject the Commission proposal or change it from a regulation to a directive.

189 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
