Summary

The Digital Services Act establishes Union rules for providers of intermediary services and online platforms. The amendments address illegal content, content moderation and automated tools, notice-and-action mechanisms and trusted flaggers, obligations on online platforms (with exemptions for micro and small enterprises), verification of traders' information, online advertisement, and systemic-risk assessment and mitigation for very large online platforms, including their role in shaping public opinion and the gig and on-demand economy.
