Summary

The dossier concerns the further development of the Capital Markets Union (CMU), including access to capital market finance for SMEs and retail investor participation. Amendments address diversifying financing options for companies and citizens, turning savers into investors, financial stability and investor protection, environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, covered bonds and European Secured Notes, a euro area safe asset, and the impact of COVID-19 on SMEs.
