Summary

This implementation report addresses Article 43 of the directive on common procedures for granting and withdrawing international protection (the asylum border procedure). The amendments add citations (the Schengen Borders Code, the Dublin III, Reception and Return Directives, EASO and Frontex studies) and discuss the absence of Commission assessment, the variation in Member States' use of border procedures, documented push-backs and refoulement, de facto detention, and procedural safeguards.
