Summary

Legislative-initiative dossier on corporate due diligence and corporate accountability. Amendments debate making supply-chain due diligence mandatory to create a level playing field and prevent unfair competitive advantage and social and environmental dumping in international trade, while others insist safeguarding human rights remains the responsibility of states and call for impact assessments and a transitional period, referencing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
