Summary

A discharge decision on the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for the 2019 financial year. The amendments note EFSA's budget and implementation rates and its contribution to food and feed chain safety; they address independence and the cooling-off period for experts and research funding from companies, new approach methodologies and reducing animal testing, gaps in the risk assessment of genetically modified crops, and the new Transparency Regulation.
