Summary

This own-initiative report concerns A Farm to Fork Strategy for a fair, healthy and environmentally friendly food system. As an own-initiative report, Parliament sets out its own position on the subject; it is not itself a law and is not binding. Six committees, including Agriculture and Rural Development and Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, worked on it under subjects such as rural development, biodiversity, public health and food safety. The tabled amendments stress the role of EU trade policy in the transition toward sustainable agri-food systems, invoke the Paris Agreement and European Green Deal, call for consistency with the Common Agriculture and Fisheries Policies, address deforestation, food security, promotion policy and Geographical Indications. It shares subjects such as food safety with related files including Food information to consumers.

32 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
