Summary

This file on preventing the use of the financial system for money laundering or terrorist financing follows the ordinary legislative procedure, in which Parliament and the Council decide together to produce binding EU law. It was handled by the Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs committees, under subjects including capital outflow and money laundering, financial supervision, electronic payments and action to combat terrorism. The tabled amendments reference Directive (EU) 2015/849 and the FATF standards, extend AML/CFT rules to crypto-assets, unhosted wallets, DeFi arrangements and traders in high-value goods, address obliged entities' internal controls, the EUR 10 000 cash threshold, targeted financial sanctions, and give AMLA tasks on regulatory technical standards. It shares subjects with related files including the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA).

2 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
